Easy Protective Style Tutorial: Halo Twists for Natural, Transitioning and Straightened Hair

This is one of my favorite styles to wear when I am feeling like my curls need a break from styling. Halo twists are so easy and quick that I choose to wear them even on my laziest hair day. Halo Twists are basically large flat twists on either side of your head. As you twist the hair, be careful to stay close to your hairline so that the twists frame the face. You can dress this style up with hair accessories or wear it as is. You only need a few items to perfect this style (rat tail comb, detangling brush, bobby-pins, and a boar bristle brush). I always get compliments about it whenever I wear this style and I am sure you will too.

This is considered a protective style because it protects the ends of your hair from the elements and requires very little manipulation after installed. For a style that is so simple, it gives an air of elegance and sophistication. It is also versatile enough that you can wear this style at work, while exercising, a night out, or a formal affair and it can be done on transitioning, natural, relaxed, or straight hair.
